Position Summary: The Senior Infrastructure Engineer works in a team of engineers with diverse skills that collectively deliver reliable and scalable IT Infrastructure platforms. The Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for design, installation, configuration, security, performance, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure including hybrid and public cloud environments. This scope includes, but is not limited to datacenter compute, storage, and virtualization platforms; application and desktop virtualization; Microsoft infrastructure, Network, telephony, and application server technologies; and operating systems. The position recommends upgrades and improvements and resolves complex systems issues and problems. They will work with IT, business partners, customers, and vendors to support the infrastructure needs of Martin's Point and will serve as a mentor to other members of the infrastructure team. Key Outcomes: Designs, Implements, installs, configures, maintains, monitors, and provides technical support of: Virtualization: infrastructure, servers, desktops, applications, and containers. Physical server hardware and platform management. Operating systems and systems management applications. Data and voice network infrastructure and security devices. May support the design, implementation, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and technical support of: Hybrid and public cloud infrastructure including, but not limited to networking, storage, and virtualization. Data center network infrastructure and security devices. Data protection: Backup and recovery systems, tape management, and data replication. Firewall configuration including ACLs and NATs. Microsoft infrastructure and application server technologies: Active Directory, Exchange Server, Skype for Business Server, SQL Server, SharePoint Server. Communication lines including carrier Ethernet services, private fiber links, Internet links and voice SIP, PRI, and POTS circuits. Power planning (electrical planning in data centers). Storage Systems: storage arrays, Fibre Channel, SAN switching/zoning, data resiliency. Structured cabling infrastructure including copper and fiber cabling and vendor coordination. Voice services including phones, unified communications manager, voicemail, and contact center infrastructure including voice/desktop recording and workforce optimization. Provides Tier 3 support to troubleshoot and resolve all infrastructure applications and hardware problems in a timely and effective manner. Designs, creates, and provides ongoing maintenance for programs, tools, and processes for automating tasks and processes. Works with subject matter experts in the IT department to streamline workflows and processes. Works with responsible parties to ensure efficient and thorough support of regulatory requirements and auditing processes. Works closely with the IT Architects to provide input on infrastructure designs and to implement new designs. Develops, defines, reviews, and enforces infrastructure policy, standards, and guidelines to support business operations and technology implementations. Secures the systems by working closely with IT Security teams to apply policies and configurations to applications and systems and network infrastructure. Maintains and troubleshoots a stable infrastructure, utilizing industry best practices. Participates in the rotating "on call" schedule with other members of the team for providing support to the business and partners after hours and on weekends. Adheres to all established systems configuration standards. Designs, creates, and maintains accurate and relevant systems documentation including diagrams, as-built documents, configuration templates, inventories, and the IT Service Catalog to ensure consistency and quality outcomes. Actively participates in established Peer Review, Design Review, and Change Management processes to ensure quality outcomes. Actively participates in established Incident/Problem Management process to minimize the effect of and to prevent future unplanned outages. Plans and performs work under minimal supervision. Provides hands-on technical leadership and mentoring to other members of the infrastructure team. Leads and documents technical sessions with members of the IT department. Performs other duties as assigned to support MPHC Infrastructure. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience. 7 years of experience in Systems or Network Engineering/Administration, preferably at a senior level. 3 years of hands-on experience with the delivery of cloud-based solutions. Required License(s) and/or Certification(s): VMware, Microsoft, Public Cloud (Azure, AWS), Citrix, Palo Alto Networks, and/or Cisco certifications preferred. Skills/Knowledge/Competencies (Behaviors): Senior Infrastructure Engineer Demonstrates an understanding of and alignment with Martin's Point Values. Expert knowledge in a subset of following: Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP. Administration and troubleshooting of Windows and Linux operating systems. Automation platforms such as Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform, or other configuration management/orchestration platforms. Encryption technologies and PKI. Enterprise data center compute technologies such as Cisco UCS. Enterprise storage and Fibre Channel switching technologies. Generating and maintaining scripts for automation. Git or similar code management tools. Industry standard networking technologies including, but not limited to, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP, and NAC. Languages and tooling such as PowerShell, YAML, Python, Bash, and JSON. managing a multi-site network environment with knowledge of modern WAN technologies. Microsoft Azure or other cloud computing platforms. Networking protocols/technologies: OSPF, BGP, VRFs, MPLS, QoS, SNMP, VoIP, SSL client and site-to-site VPN, and Spanning Tree. Open Systems Interconnection model (OSI model). SIP, PRI, and POTS telephony infrastructure. Structured cabling systems including Category 5e/6 UTP and multimode and single mode fiber. Virtualization technologies, such as VMware vSphere, virtual applications and desktops, and Docker containers. Wi-Fi technologies, connectivity, and RF fundamentals. Maintains a broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies. Understanding of incident response, disaster recovery, contingency planning, business methodologies, and vulnerability management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. May require travel to sites throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York State. Customer Focus Act as an owner of the business and seek to understand needs.
