The Role: Sensus, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Senior Configuration Tester who will be part of the Sensus Professional Services team and support customer specific request pertaining to managing live meters/endpoints in production and test environments. This resource will perform configuration changes as well as consult on issue seen by customers in the field. Duties include reviewing test cases, creating configuration scripts, database queries, creating batch jobs, providing technical understanding both internally and externally, troubleshooting, monitoring and technical assistance directly to customers.

Essential Functions:

Consult directly with customers on field issues

Testing of meter configuration

Perform meter configuration

General understanding of the meter’s current state

Locating RF routes to the meters

Pinging meters for missing data (Setup, Binding, Metadata, etc.)

Tuning meters and/or nearby meters as necessary

Adding meters to FNMS No Tune list as necessary

Customer training

Manage the Encryption state of all electric meters/water endpoints

Update GPS coordinates in the FlexNetDB as well as at the meter with data

Develop automation to increase productivity for current and future releases

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science; advanced degree desirable.

5+ years as a software QA Engineer, IT Infrastructure Architecture, Design, implementation of web service oriented JAVA applications, operating systems, Database support.

5+ years experience with automated and manual testing, creating and executing test cases/scripts and working within software engineering technical environment

Good written and oral communications skills required.

Solid experience with Microsoft tools, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

VMware, Smartware, XML, SOAP UI

Excellent validation skills: Planning, problem solving, debug, adversarial testing

C#/C/C++, .NET, Visual Basic, Tcl/Perl/Java/shell-scripting/Unix or Linux.

Oracle, MS–Access, RDBMS, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
