As the Senior Data Architect, you'll be exposed and contribute to the development and application of innovative technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced data analytics. Our work depends on a Data Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO.
What you will be working on:
Research and properly evaluate sources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usabilityApply sampling techniques to effectively determine and define ideal categories to be questionedCompare and analyze provided statistical information to identify patterns, relationships and problemsDefine and utilize statistical methods to solve industry-specific problems in varying fields, such as economics and engineeringPrepare detailed reports for management and other departments by analyzing and interpreting dataTrain assistants and other members of the team how to properly organize findings and read data collectedDesign computer code using various languages to improve and update software and applicationsRefer to previous instances and findings to determine the ideal method for gathering dataSupport the Geospatial Services and Solutions business area to provide high-quality, cost-effective solutions to the customerDesign and implement automation solutions to enhance data capture, data refinement, and processes. Coding examples include:
Interfacing with device APIs in order to collect operational metricsProviding automated VoIP phone setupAdministering and automating data pipelines between different environments
Utilize best practices for source control, testing, and deployment of software changesWork in close collaboration with other automation engineers, infrastructure administrators, and data scientistsDiagnose, isolate, and expediently resolve complex problems pertaining to data structuresDevelop methods of ensuring data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminatedDesign, Develop and recommend data management policies, standards, practices, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent data management operationsParticipate in continuous improvement efforts to increase data availability, data quality, and speed of accessMaintain up-to-date documentation of designs/configurations, ensuring team members have continuity of recurring tasksWhat you will bring to us:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field8+ years of related data engineering architecture and designComfort with Linux/Windows command-lineAutomation mindsetSystem administration and/or DevOps environment experienceActive TS/SCI clearance and eligibility to obtain a CI polyStrong math and analytical skills are essential to complete job requirements successfullyExperience working with private and sensitive personal informationConfident in decision making and the ability to explain processes or choices as neededStrong computer skills and ability to use necessary databases and softwareInterpersonal and customer service skills are required when meeting with and interviewing potential clientsExcellent multitasking skills and task management strategiesAbility to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneouslyWould be nice if you bring the following:
Python experienceShell scripting experience such as Bash or PowerShellExperience with Database technologies such as Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQLExperience writing and working with SQL commandsVersion control experience with GitExperience with Gitlab and Git workflowsFamiliarity with Agile Scrum methodologiesTime management skills and the drive to work with limited supervision within a small teamBonus Skills:
