Environmental Data Management Consultant
to join our growing consulting firm in
Chicago
(or nearby locations). As an integral part of the Data Analytics and Visualization Group, the successful candidate will work on a wide range of environmental projects locally, nationally, and internationally. In this role, the candidate will support a variety of ERM's services and clients with any environmental data management needs, specifically with high frequency/high volume data management, automation, and visualization. This is a great opportunity to work with ERM's technical experts to implement the latest geographic, remote sensing, mapping, modeling, and visualization techniques.
ResponsibilitiesLead and innovate in projects requiring high frequency/high volume data automation.Provide innovative solutions to data automation using a combination of SQL and EQuIS and otherProvide senior technical advice on and implement data management, transformation, and visualization for a variety of complex environmental projectsDocument and communicate database quality issues identified.Coordinate with labs field teams and project teams to coordinate field sampling efforts and ensure data quality and completeness.Integrate data from laboratory, field and historical sources into ERM's EQuIS databases.Provide customized dashboard and database reporting support to project teams.Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.Perform and manage multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.Develop a working understanding of ERM's other consulting service areas and actively support cross-selling other services to existing clients.Provide leadership in managing staff performance, recruiting and retention, and mentoring personnel for overall success of technical team.Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.Requirements
BA/BS degree in Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, GIS, Computer Sciences, or a related field. MS preferred but not required.6 years minimum experience required and 8+ years preferred.Previous work experience in environmental data management is preferred, with strong analytical/database skills.Experience with the following applications is a plus: EarthSoft's EQuIS, MS Excel (intermediate to advanced), Power BI, DAX, SQL, Python, R studio and other programming languages is a plus.Ability to continually analyze data at all stages for problems, logic, and consistency.Ability to manage and readjust workload to meet changing deadlines.Strong organizational and communication skills.Strong commitment to safety.
