L.J. Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidate for potential assignment as a Database Administrator.
Tasks will include:
Installing, upgrading, and patching Oracle Database software in an Oracle Exadata and IBM AIX environment with RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Enterprise Manager, and GoldenGate.Creating Oracle databases.Developing and testing a backup and recovery strategy, backing up Oracle databases regularly, and recovering them in case of failures.Configuring the network environment to enable clients to connect to databases.Starting up and shutting down the database.Managing storage for the database.Managing users and security.Monitoring performance and availability of Oracle database environment.Starting and stopping Oracle databases as necessary.Creating and maintaining documentation related to all tasks and providing mentoring/knowledge transfer to other staff as necessary.Job Requirements
Details:
7 years of experience troubleshooting Oracle 10g or higher database performance and other related issues; specifically by working with other teams to identify if the issue is at the storage, network, database, or application tier.7 years experience working with developers to suggest modifications which could improve the performance of their SQL (e.g., avoiding cartesian products, suggesting indexes, etc.).7 years of experience using RMAN for backup and recovery of Oracle 10g or higher databases. Experience must include using RMAN for recovery.7 years of experience upgrading and patching Oracle 10g or higher Database software in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX, Linux, Exadata etc). Experience must include both upgrading and patching an entire RAC cluster with DataGuard. 7.5 10.7 years of experience installing Oracle 10g or higher Database software in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX, Linux, Exadata etc). Experience must include installing and configuring an entire RAC cluster with DataGuard.4 years of experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13 or higher.4 years of experience working with GoldenGate in an Oracle database environment.3 years of experience with Oracle 10g or higher with an application tier which uses IBM Cúram architecture (direct experience with Cúram itself not necessary).Oracle 10g or higher Certified Professional (OCP) certification.Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
