JD for Network Tools & Automation EngineerPrimary Purpose:
The Network Tools and Automation Engineer will design and execute the network automation platforms and tools in support of Client network transformation strategy. This role requires technical hands-on in Tools & automation efforts for the network Infrastructure organization. This role will have the overall responsibility of implementing automation and network tools as well as developing processes and enablement/training within the Internal network services organization. This role will help amplify network capabilities by enabling analytics and automation to drive operational efficiencies in the environment. This role requires cross-functional interaction with several teams to implement ongoing projects. The role will partner closely with network product and platform owners including MSPs and other suppliers and will translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical requirements that continuously improve the entire suite of network services for brining improvements in network availability, reliability and network performance. This role will also be responsible for implementation, participate in day-to-day operations of network automation and tools platforms, and troubleshooting efforts and will be directly accountable for the results for these critical network platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for collaborating with internal teams & MSPs to implement the projects on Network Automation & ToolsCollaborate with internal teams and document the requirementsIdentify opportunities & new capabilities that can bring network operational efficienciesCreate documentation including administration procedures/instructions for enabling automation into the environmentWork closely with our internal customers to help alleviate their problems and ensure our network continues to meet their demands.Work on new designs/solutions related to automation, bringing them from concept to working operationsResponsible for the uptime and performance of the Network tools deployedIdentify and recommend optimizations to improve tools performanceLead network monitoring tool upgrades and changes in production environmentDocument network monitoring toolset support processes and proceduresReview and implement changes on the network through automation and orchestration solutionsDrive operational excellence projects to make improvements in our network quality and reliabilityTroubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions leveraging automation framework for day-to-day operationsDefine and document best practices and support proceduresMentor / cross-train team members to use and understand automation and tools processes
Qualifications:
Must have experience with automation of network devices using Ansible,Python and other automation scripting tools. Familiarity with Netbot, Rendezvous, Skybox, Solarwinds & other Leading automation platforms and frameworksWillingness to learn and develop skillset on these tool setsPrevious experience with design and deployment of large-scale network monitoring tools & automations solutionsExperience with the implementation and optimization of above toolsStrong Knowledge in the areas of fault monitoring, capacity management, configuration management, and performance managementAbility to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutionsRecord of strong project management and time management skillsDesire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environmentUnderstanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing, LAN switching & Firewalls)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience with 2-3 years of direct experience with implementation and management of network tools & automation solutionsFamiliarity with Netbot, Rendezvous, Skybox, Solarwinds & other Leading automation platforms and frameworksExperience with automation of network devices using Ansible,Python and other automation scripting toolsCisco/Aruba certifications a plus
