Senior Healthcare Analyst/Project Manager.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong interest in health economics and experience or an advanced degree in a field such as economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, or health services research. The candidate should be able to work independently in an office setting with limited supervision. An ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism is crucial to this role at BHE. Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making abilities, and attention to detail are equally important.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the design of data oriented outcomes studies across a wide array of therapeutic areasContribute to the development of research plans and study reportsConduct data analyses and manage databases of all types (e.g., claims, surveys, clinical trials)Participate in the design of conduct studies to evaluate the value of new healthcare interventions including pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Studies may involve decision analytic models, prospective data from clinical trials, and retrospective claims dataCoordinate with other BHE personnel to ensure the timely and quality preparation of project deliverables based on the assigned scope of servicesProvide ongoing mentoring and performance feedback for managed team membersPresentation of research, including dissemination at scientific conferences and submission of manuscripts to peer-reviewed scientific journalsProvide proposal content and support of other activities to ensure a high quality, timely proposal submissionMentor junior research staffParticipate in the publication processCompetencies:
Ability to manage own time and proactively identify prioritized tasks for multiple concurrent projectsAbility to communicate appropriate status and issues to senior managementEntrepreneurial spirit, drive, and work ethic for internal initiativesFocus on attention to detailDemonstrated proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Requirements
Qualifications:
An advanced degree in health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research or other related field, and/or 5-7 years of relevant job experienceDemonstrated analytical, organizational, creative problem solving, and structured communication skillsFluency in English (will be required to write, speak, and understand English to conduct day-to-day business)Masters degree in Economics, Health Policy, Epidemiology, or Biostatistics with 3+ years of experience in research-oriented healthcare consultingStrong technical skillsProficiency with relevant software (e.g., SAS, Microsoft Excel, decision analysis software)Excellent communication, organizational, and management skillsAn interest in publishing
