Our client is seeking an experienced Data Modeler with a focus on Fixed Income Products to join their. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling and database design, particularly in relational and non-relational databases within the financial industry. The candidate should possess exceptional problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and a deep understanding of data governance principles.
Responsibilities:Data Modeling and Database Design:
Design, develop, and maintain complex data models for both relational and non-relational databases, with a specific focus on Fixed Income Products within the financial industry.SQL Proficiency:
Demonstrate proficiency in SQL, data querying, and performance optimization techniques to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.Data Modeling Tools:
Utilize data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER Studio, and DBT to create and manage data models efficiently.Dimensional and Normalized Data Models:
Expertise in building dimensional as well as highly normalized data models for Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) systems to meet business requirements.Cloud Infrastructure Technologies:
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies like containers, Kubernetes, and serverless computing, and their impact on data modeling and database design.Data Governance:
Experience working with Data Governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica to establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, and processes. Build catalogues, business terms, technical metadata, and data lineage for effective data management.Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical and scalable technical solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.7+ years of experience in data modeling and database designing, with at least 5 years focused on Fixed Income Products within the financial industry.Proficiency in SQL, data querying, and performance optimization techniques.Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER Studio, and DBT.Expertise in building dimensional and normalized data models for OLTP systems.Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies and their impact on data management.Experience with Data Governance tools and processes, including catalogues, metadata, and data lineage.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.Experience with Snowflake is highly desirable.Certifications in cloud platforms or data management (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
