Overview
The Project Operator performs tasks involved with various golf course construction projects as directed by the Project Foreman. The individual operates equipment such as tractors, loaders, excavators and hand tools to move, shape, repair and/or groom the different features on the golf course.
Functions
Utilizes a wide variety of construction tools and equipment in a safe manner: shovels, rakes, soil compactors, trucks, backhoes and mini-excavators.Renovates, Reconstructs and/or repairs golf courses greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, paths, irrigation, and drainage.Monitors and maintains equipment to ensure proper working condition.Assists the Project Foreman with training others in equipment operation, maintenance and safety.Contributes a high attention to detail and a commitment to completing the project successfully.Trouble shoots irrigation, drainage, etc and brings solutions to the Project Foreman.Performs additional assignments per the Project Operator.Employment standards
Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and working knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems.Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in golf course construction and maintenance work.Ability to operate heavy duty equipment.Ability to follow oral and written directions.Possession of a valid driver's license.
