Location: San Diego, CA

Contract Term: 12+ Months

Weekly 40.00 hours

Job Description Summary

Serve as a team Scrum Master to one or more Agile Team, championing agile values & principles, process efficiencies, business value generation and team effectiveness. Also assist in Agile implementation and programs to drive positive transformational impact across the broader organization. Scrum Master will work across various IT functional groups and business stakeholders as needed to help the team deliver to business targets and project/program goals.

Primary responsibilities will include:



Scrum Master for one or two teams and provide direct team support on improving team planning skills, adherence to the various ceremonies and cadence of daily, iteration, and release-level meetings.



Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers



Guide the team on how to get the most out of out self organization by improving team collaboration, transparency and meaningful retrospectives



Guide the team on self organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks



Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.



Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.



Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.



Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution



Guide the team to increase their transparency and effectively track their progress by leveraging information radiators (burn downs/burn ups charts & metrics)



Model servant leadership and display the behaviors that come with the key mindset shifts associated with Agile methods in leading by example



Take on project governance/deliverable coordination as needed by gathering necessarily paperwork to pass project gates and adhere to standard framework



Continually grow internal competency for Scrum Master tools & techniques

Technical Skills:



Proficient and able to teach fundamentals of Agile & Scrum approach, roles & processes



Advanced experience & knowledge of other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise



Proficient on fundamentals of software/project development processes and procedures



Proficient knowledge of incremental delivery and the value of metrics



Proficient knowledge of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition



Proficient and able to teach common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices



Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team

Additional Job Description

Education and Background:



BA or BS degree or progressive work experience over 10 years in relevant areas



Over 5 years leading large programs or teams in the agile or project/program area



Demonstrated experience using Scrum or Agile



CSM or other Agile proficiency certifications



Experience with SalesForce, BI, Qlikview application preferred

• Familiar with Agile tools (VersionOne) preferred
