Job Description

JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for understanding in-depth cross department workflows and partners with customers to recommend system optimization opportunities and translates the opportunity into effective enhancements. Vital in the deployment of new workflows with business partners and measures post implementation effectiveness. Mentors others on the application team while working collaboratively with our customers to bring cutting edge technology to the department and ensuring that our customers are satisfied. Works closely with the Manager and Technical Lead in the coordination of new projects from development to successful implementation. Interfaces with all areas of Information Technology and Services and ensures team interfaces with other ITS teams to keep customer and patients as the number one focus.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience. Five years of relevant configuration/programming experience. Experience in a healthcare or healthcare related environment preferred.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

Epic certification or relevant training in the applicable system(s) required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Evaluates end user workflows. Meets with operational partners, and team members to collect feedback on workflows and systems. Recommends changes to optimize operational functions that deliver better customer experiences and increase organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.

2. Identifies and recommends the implementation of new functionality that supports the organization?s mission. Demonstrates functionality to operational partners as requested.

3. Understands and translates the business functionality into system configuration and workflow validations.

4. Develops build plans with the Manager and the Technical Lead. Tracks build progress and provide regular project updates to management, project managers and operational stakeholders.

5. Leads large groups to make key decisions.

6. Completes complex build/configuration activities to support operational workflows and business processes. Develops, documents, and deploys new workflows with operational staff. Measures the results of new workflows to gauge their effectiveness.

7. Mentors other team members and disseminates knowledge to foster the growth of those around them.

8. Participates in cross-functional projects and is able to provide design information crossing applications.

9. Coordinates cross application testing to ensure up and downstream implications are mitigated.

10. Achieves in-depth knowledge of software to serve as a bridge between end users and vendor implementation and support staff. Responds to vendor's technical questions.

11. Adheres to departmental change, problem, and incident processes. Communicates with colleagues to coordinate change management activities and completion of tasks.

12. Provides on-call application or advanced troubleshooting support as requested.

13. Aids trainers when needed.

14. Submits project status updates/reports to management and technical leads. Completes assigned tasks on schedule and updates the associated task record. Provides regular project updates to stakeholders.

15. Records time spent on projects to meet documentation requirements.

16. Serves as administrative backup during the Manager's absence, if requested.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on customer service Knowledge of physician practice/healthcare professional services, billing requirements, hospital administration and/or processes Ability to communicate on a professional level with customers and staff Strong MS platform knowledge including Windows Server and MS Office Ability to work in a fast paced work environment while maintaining a high level of quality Demonstrated ability to take direction from management Apply updates, upgrade and migrate environments based on technical documentation Accurate and logical problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Strong initiative and proven ability to work independently with limited supervision Strong knowledge of security concepts, granting and removing user permissions
