Core Network Engineer

Responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), NRO's Internet Network, Intranet, and Internet, as well as other data communications systems or a designated segment of a network system. This role involves the maintenance of network hardware and software, ensuring continuous monitoring to guarantee network availability for all system users. The position requires performing necessary maintenance to uphold network availability and may include supervising other network support and client server specialists. Additionally, the role encompasses planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing network control centers to maintain efficient operations.
Providing support for projects involving network components.
Evaluating emerging network technologies and advising project managers on their integration into the existing network.
Planning new network configurations and seamlessly integrating them into existing networks for optimal performance.
The incumbent ensures the adequacy of plans for hardware and communications, developing and implementing methodologies for the analysis, installation, and support of voice communication systems. Furthermore, the role involves supporting the translation of business requirements into telecommunications requirements, including LAN, WAN, Voice, and Video, by designing and ordering necessary systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, which can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 0 years of experience, a Masters and 1 year, a Bachelor's and 2 years, an Associates and 5 years, or a High School diploma and 7 years.
Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
Active TS/SCI CI Poly clearance is required.
Experience with both Cisco and Juniper routers.
