SUMMARY

The Data Analyst will be responsible for maintaining ticketing department technology regarding data ingestion, delivery, and infrastructure along with ensuring the accuracy of current and new data sources for Barclays Center, New York Liberty and the Brooklyn Nets. As a Data Analyst, you will lead sophisticated data analysis projects, working closely with Marketing, Finance and Sales leaders and other cross-functional teams to provide strategic insights contributing to our business growth and innovation. Applicants are expected to have strong quantitative and good interpersonal communication skills to effectively run large amounts of sensitive data while effectively communicating their strategies. They will be part of the Ticket Analytics team and will report directly to the Data Scientist and work closely with the pricing team and fellow analysts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Code complex custom SQL queries to extract data from the Data-warehouse.

Conduct deep dives into sales forecasting, analyzing customer behavior, and market value of our products. Synthesize data findings into compelling stories and communicate them throughout BSE and to senior leaders.

Build new/maintain existing Tableau reports;

Build new/maintain existing data pipelines and ETL scripts into various data stores including AWS microservices (S3, EC2) and a PostgreSQL data warehouse.

Operate in close liaison with our external data warehousing vendor to maintain/improve data warehouse integrity and functionality;

Work in multi-functional teams to perform/automate data integrity checks ensuring data accuracy;

Strive for expertise knowledge of all data sources, particularly dynamic Ticketmaster data/back end;

Assist Analytics team with ad hoc historical data pulls, analyses and statistical modeling projects;

Explore, clean, and preprocess large datasets to extract relevant features and ensure data quality for analysis.

Apply statistical analysis methods to uncover patterns, trends, and insights from data and effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical collaborators.

Highly ethical and discrete in order to respect, protect and maintain confidential information including company documents and records;

Work with Data Engineering team to build schema in SQL environment for long-term data storage;

Investigate efficacy of implementing new data sources into data warehouse;

Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned;

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL;

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Python;

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Tableau or PowerBI;

Knowledge of/experience with AWS microservices: EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, etc.;

Technically proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)

Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills;

Ability to communicate complex concepts and processes to non-technical partners;

Education And/or Experience

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, statistics, business or mathematics;

2-4 years of experience in analytics related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree, preferably in computer science, statistics, business or mathematics;

1-3 years of experience in analytics related field.

SALARY RANGE:

$77,000 - $95,000

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works primarily in an office environment but is expected to work late hours when mission-critical data tasks arise, and attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays.
