Job Summary
The position of the Senior Network Administrator is a technical position overseeing the firm's server infrastructure, networking, digital application, and network security, and maintaining a high level of network functionality. The Senior Network Administrator also assists with maintaining the overall integrity of the wide area network. The Senior Network Administrator's primary objective is to ensure the firm's computer network is secure, accessible, and functioning properly for employees to perform their daily job functions efficiently. Under the direction of the Director of Technology Operations, the Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the implementation, administration, and maintenance of network and systems infrastructure, and software applications, working closely with the end user, establishing network access, and supporting end users through problem resolution. The Senior Network Administrator is a level 2 and 3 support for internal clients and must represent the department as being knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive. The Senior Network Administrator is also responsible for assisting the Director of Technology Operations, managing projects assigned by him/her, and assisting Network Administrators with any issues.
Responsibilities
The Senior Network Administrator's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: •Installs, configures, tests, and maintains servers (on-premises and Azure), storage systems (IaaS, SaaS, and on-premises), communications and collaboration systems, and related networking equipment. •Monitors scheduled jobs and infrastructure assets output for completeness, accuracy, and errors. •Performs all critical data backups and secures data according to established procedures. •Installs firmware and security updates on endpoints, servers, printers, and related networking equipment. •Manages software applications and targeted packaging for endpoint deployment. •Configures and maintains Microsoft Active Directory (AD and ADFS), Identity management system, and directory services. •Installs, configures, and maintains Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) software, Firewalls, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Antimalware, etc. for maximum network, endpoint, and data protection. •Maintains Unified Communications, VoIP, and any related equipment, services, and platforms. •Implements and integrates new and existing applications for centralized and secure identity management; configures and manages multi-factor authentication system. •Troubleshoots and resolves issues with network switches and edge connectivity devices across multiple office locations. •Work in collaboration with ISO and maintain all data used for redundancy efforts and assist with remediation efforts as a result of test findings and risk assessments. •Assists with software upgrades and installations. •Creates scripts for automation of common tasks. •Set up Backup schedules of data and server images and review logs. •Apply Server patches and OS updates and maintenance on both physical and virtual servers. •Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual desktop environments (VDI on-premise and Cloud). •Configure Internet/VPN connectivity and troubleshoot issues. •Perform network software implementation projects as assigned. •Work closely with vendors and consultants on new firm initiatives; schedule meetings and working sessions and provide updates of progress to the Director of Technology Operations or CIO. •Provide new staff network and security training as directed by L&D during New Hire Orientation •Set up and configure Email profiles and troubleshoot firm email issues. •Lead Project implementations as assigned. •Serve as a Level 2 and 3 support for end-user support and helpdesk and Network technicians.
JOB REQUIREMENTS •Bachelor's degree in a technical field or Associate's in Computer Science or Networking. •5+ years of recent experience as a Network (Cisco) and Server (Microsoft) Administration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS •Experience with Microsoft Windows networking; networking hardware such as servers, routers, and switches; and Microsoft Office. •3+ years of experience managing hybrid infrastructure (Azure cloud and Citrix cloud). •5+ Years experience with administering AD and/or directory services. •2+ years' experience administering and integrating MFA, SSO, and firewall administration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS •Bachelor's degree in computer or information science or related field. •Azure Administrator Associate and/or Azure Developer Associate •Experience with managing and administering Palo Alto Firewalls, VPN, and Barracuda Anti-spam systems. •Experience working with Forcepoint Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) and CrowdStrike Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) systems. •Cisco certified-CCNA.
