Job Description

Position: Quality Assurance Lead

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager

Summary:

This position provides administrative support to the Quality Assurance Department. The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for in-process sampling of product to ensure that indicated quality specifications are met. The QA Lead must be cross functional in Food Safety to be able to perform in any area needed in the plant.

Essential Functions:

Pull in-process samplesPerform visual quality checks and execute measurement checksAuditing of production packets for all business segmentsCommunicate Quality opportunities with production and quality stakeholdersSecondary Functions:

Ownership of production & quality recordsOversee the post-operational inspection to ensure the facility is prepared for an exceptional pre-operational inspectionPerforms audits on production packets for Quality AssuranceEntering trends and pareto information into databaseExecute ATP and Environmental Swabs, then record dataEnforce Good Manufacturing Practices ("GMPs")Training all department staff on the proper way to complete documents and to follow food safety procedures and protocolsGathering information/production packets as needed for audits or managementAssist in lot investigations and processingAdministrative duties such as but not limited to filing, distributing paperwork, typing, etcNon-Essential Functions

Assisting with USDA as questions/issues ariseFilling out/completing PNR'sContinuous inspection of entire facility to ensure cleanliness standards are met and maintenance work orders are entered or escalatedQualifications (Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

Minimum one year experience in quality, in the manufacturing or similar industryKnowledge of HACCP (preferred)Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Ability to track and log measurementsGood written and verbal communication skillsEducation & Experience

High school diplomaPrevious manufacturing experience, preferably in bakingAdministrative experience, preferably in manufacturing environmentPersonal Attributes

Proven ability to work within a team environmentMotivated, self-starterAbility to learn quickly and follow directionPhysical Demands
