Trade Accountant (Commodities)

The Group is involved in the sourcing of physical commodities, logistics and transportation services, processing and refining solutions, as well as the sale to ultimate consumers and fabricators. In addition to merchant and trading services, The Group also engages in specialized merchant banking services with global partners across the commodity stream, providing structured trade finance and growing a diverse portfolio of projects. This includes developing and managing strategic investments in counterparties such as producers, refineries, smelters, storage and logistics entities, industrial consumers, and fabricators.Responsibilities:Monthly reconciliation of Risk/Trading system profit and loss to general ledgerPerforms analysis to ensure accuracy of gross marginPrepares and books journal entries impacting the gross margin; identifies and reconciles discrepancies that impact the gross marginPrepares and allocates cost of cash usage by dept/portfolioAnalyzes, ensures accuracy, and prepares reconciliation of trade accruals, inventory and other accountsUnderstands and reports profit and loss and mark to market attributes and movementsEvaluate specific business transactions for proper accounting treatmentValidates market valuationMonitors and ensures compliance of control policies and proceduresAssists in the management of the preparation of the Consolidated Financial statements and reporting to external and internal parties under IFRSAssists in the preparation of the annual and quarterly reporting on global basisAssists in the annual external auditFields and responds to inquiries from management, traders, and external auditorsOther duties as assignedRequirements:B.S. / B.A. with 4-6 year's experienceStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel requiredCommodity accounting a plusAbility to use modern, multi-currency accounting software packageOn-site 5 days a week
