The Crane Operator's responsibilities include knowledge of lever and pedal control, driving cranes to the worksite, inspecting the crane for safety daily and operating the crane under general supervision. You should be able to lift and lower materials with precision following hand signals given by workers on the ground.Crane operator should operate cranes efficiently, take complete charge of all safety, clean and maintain the hoisting mechanisms. Crane operator should set and maintain a standard of accuracy, be able to work in extreme weather conditions and operate the crane according to verbal, written or signal instruction.Crane Operator is responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and set various building components, and supplies.Operators also follow appropriate safety procedures and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours (FMCSA).Operator typically works without direct supervision and is expected to work the required hours with frequent sitting, standing, moving, and climbing.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESTreating customers in a friendly and professional mannerConducting a safe work zone during each job siteAdhering to assigned delivery schedule and following all job directives preciselyDetermining where to set the materials and componentsObeying all traffic laws and weight limitsLoading and unloading materialOperates mobile crane in the setting of wall panels, floor panels and roof trusses.Calculates load capacity, determining weight of items to be moved in relation to the maximum capacity of crane based on manufacturers specifications.Inspects clearances, overhead lines, and other possible obstructions to ensure there are no accidents or damage to employees, buildings, loads, or equipment.Inspects and assesses ground conditions to ensure that the crane can be set up safely.Inspects cranes for defects and wear prior to operation; performs necessary repairs or maintenance.Complies with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices.Maintains logs and records of operation activities.Performs other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSValid CDL NCCCO Certified 1 Year Minimum experience with Crane/Boom setting roof trusses certification a bonus. Clean Driving RecordExperience Operating a Boom TruckFamiliar with following lift plans and crane hand signalsGood verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records.Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.Excellent depth perception and reaction time.Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs, and inspect and maintain machinery.May work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold.REQUIRED EDUCATIONCDL NCCCO Certified 1 Year Minimum experience with Crane/Boom setting roof trusses certification a bonus.
