We offer a dynamic and flexible work environment with competitive benefits and the ability to grow your career.Seeking a senior attorney to serve in the position of Director and Senior Corporate Counse l reporting to the Senior Director and Senior Corporate Counsel and the Vice President and Associate General Counsel.Key Responsibilities:Draft, negotiate and advise on a variety of complex commercial agreements (e.g., inbound and outbound technology licenses, service agreements, co-marketing and co-branding agreements and software and SaaS agreements)Provide strategic legal advice to the Law Department and senior business unit leaders regarding Verisign’s registry, product and marketing businesses. The Director role will advise on contract interpretation and risk, policies and regulations related to Verisign’s registry business, new product initiatives, advertising content and agreements, customer contract issues and marketing programsUnderstand and leverage internal and external resources to ensure compliance with U.S. and international laws and regulations related to Verisign’s products and advertising, as well as Verisign’s top level domain registry operationsEnsure members of the Law Department are apprised of material developments and matters on a timely basisOperate in an open and collaborative manner as a “team player”Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:J.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited law school10+ years of legal experience, preferably with some time spent in an in-house legal role in a technology/internet fieldExperience drafting complex commercial agreements and leading negotiations, with an emphasis on technology licensingExperience supporting the development and launch of new products and servicesExperience reviewing technical presentations, whitepapers, marketing materials and regulatory and compliance-related communications a plusDemonstrated aptitude to quickly absorb and apply new information and function as a trusted legal advisor with direct interaction with senior managementReceptive to review of and edits to work productMust be admitted to the Virginia bar or eligible for admission as a Virginia Corporate CounselPersonal Traits and Attributes:Excellent attention to detail, superior oral and written communication skills, well-honed analytical and project management skills and the ability to provide effective and practical adviceSelf-motivated team player with the ability to drive projects, identify and resolve issues and earn the confidence and cooperation of business leaders and legal colleaguesAble to multi-task, remain highlight organized and work independently in a fast-paced environment and to interface with all levels of managementThis position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule.The pay range is $188,500-$255,100.The anticipated base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
