This is a flexible remote job, meaning you can work remotely as long as you're within one of our 6 footprint states (Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Wisconsin.) Relocation assistance is available.

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for creating a vision and strategy for the development practice across the enterprise. They establish guiding principles, roadmaps, standards, patterns, and adaptable governance to deliver the strategy and drive the realization of business outcomes. This role is critical for establishing the foundational architecture practices for modern development.

What You Will be Doing:

Helps to provide guidance and design standards for the architecture. Areas in scope include: Business Architecture, IT Strategy Facilitation, Strategic Portfolio Development and the Technical Architecture Domains.

Provide professional expertise, has broad technical, analytical, and communication skills that reflects knowledge about industry best practices and emerging trends for Meijer.

Align Architectural Runway to SAFe Agile Development. Provide leadership and oversight to partner within the organization to ensure that the architecture defines and demonstrates the interoperability, scalability, and portability of applications.

Strives to achieve optimum proficiency in all aspects of enterprise solutions and services inclusive of: business process, end user experience, applications, databases, integrations and infrastructure.

Collaborates with architects to achieve strategic and operational objectives relating to the Enterprise roadmap.

Ensures alignment to security architecture standards and secure coding practices.

Provides leadership to develop and oversee production activities of architecture documentation including: architecture roadmaps, foundation principles, schematics, guidelines, enterprise standards, technology roadmaps, interoperability, communications, governance and compliance.

Develops and facilitates the implementation of architectural policies and standards, procedures and templates for use in architectural design, service transition and sustained enterprise solution operations.

Defines and integrates culture of ownership for architecture standards and design patterns.

Analyzes overall effectiveness of architectural decisions to ensure best practices are incorporated to successfully meet the strategic goals of the company.

Provides input to the annual budget reviews for technology investments to ensure alignment to strategic goals for major projects.

Apply professional knowledge and skills to review/evaluate vendor proposals to determine adherence to architectural guidelines, specifications and investment strategy.

What You'll Bring With You:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Analysis or related discipline.

Experience in development with the larger Microsoft ecosystem.

Strong understanding of software development architecture, lifecycle methodologies, deployment tooling, and practices for cloud and/or on-premise solutions

Creates and manages a roadmap and business plan that aligns with the development strategy and supports the business vision, strategy, and objectives

Creates and manages development practices by leveraging best practices, industry frameworks, and guiding principles

Strong abilities to document development practices, techniques, standards, and patterns.

Monitors new technological advances in application development and information technologies.

6-8 years’ experience in at least two IT disciplines in a multi-tier environment including but not limited to technical architecture, network management, application development, package delivery, middleware, database management or operations planning.

Ability to disambiguate complex ideas and communicate in a simple and compelling way to a wide variety of audiences.

Knowledge of business, technology, industry and market ecosystems.

Thinks, behaves, and acts in an innovative consulting manner to drive organizational strategies.

Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments.

Analyze trends and disruptions, and assess their impact on targeted business outcomes.
