Open Rank Professor and Department Chair of Marketing & ManagementStatusOverviewSt. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master’s and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. The University’s residential campus boasts a robust living and learning community and a successful intercollegiate athletics program. The School of Business supports a teacher-scholar model and is committed to being “high touch.” As such, faculty are expected to balance research, teaching, and service expectations while also engaging with students and the Fisher community.Oversee the Department of Management and MarketingProvide strategic leadershipSupervise and mentor 10+ full-time faculty and various adjunct facultyManage course scheduling and faculty assignmentsEngage with business and community leadersMonitor and support student retentionFoster a culture of innovation and continuous process improvementServe as both a product and enrollment champion for the programs and courses offered by the departmentOther duties as assignedProfessorial Duties
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to management and/or marketing in traditional classroom (i.e., face-to-face), online, and hybrid modalitiesEngage and motivate students using interactive techniques, experiential learning, and other innovative teaching practicesConduct academic research, and fulfill service obligations to the University, Rochester business community, and the academyMaintain an active research pipeline and ongoing classification as “Scholarly Academic” under the guidelines of
