Qualifications:
Texas Operator's License
Possess some knowledge of custodial type equipment and appliances
Possess some experience in minor building repairs
Familiar with hand tools utilized in repair process
Capable of communicating in English (written and oral)
Possess some ability in comprehending specifications, schematic and maintenance tasks
Physically able to lift 50 pounds
Primary Purpose:
Assist in accomplishing the most efficient repair service possible in support of custodial activities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Accomplish job assignments in a prompt and efficient manner. Comply with district/departmental policies, rules, and procedures. Assist in maintaining and securing tools and equipment. Accomplish assigned tasks in a safe manner. Clean shop and storage areas. Learn to operate and repair custodial equipment. Occasionally perform unrelated tasks to the basic repair requirements as directed by the Operations Supervisor. Operate and maintain the carpet cleaning equipment.
Equipment Used:
Power tools (drill, saw, etc.), hand tools, carpet cleaning equipment, etc.
Working Conditions:
Continual walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work inside and outside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Work around moving objects and vehicles.
