On-Site- Smithfield, RIThe Database Administrator working with the Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for the installation, implementation, configuration, maintenance, security, integrity and performance of critical Microsoft SQL Server systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our applications. This is a "hands-on" position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business's Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)Test backups to ensure meeting the business' Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)Troubleshoot SQL Server issues as they occur, including after-hours and weekends. Regularly maintain and troubleshoot databases, work effectively with other team members to identify and address problemsConfigure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarmsInstall and configure new SQL ServersDeploy database change scripts from developers or provided by third party vendorsWhen performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes or index/query changesDocument the company's server and database environment and write detailed design or process specifications documentsOn-call troubleshooting experience with production SQL ServerUse third party tools or scripts to solve system or performance issuesMonitor databases, manage backups and recovery, and performance tuning for all databasesExtracts, transforms and loads data from disparate data sets to ensure the effective and efficient storage, retrieval, customization and archiving of dataDevelop database schema, stored procedures, functions and scriptsPerform data analysis and data design to support business and performance requirementsAssist with the establishment and enforcement of database and data integration standards and guidelines in order to ensure data integrityEngineer best practices and processes to ensure the best possible solution and delivery timelinesOther duties as assignedCorporate Compliance Responsibility - As an essential function, responsible for complying with Neighborhood's Corporate Compliance Program, Standards of Business Conduct, applicable contracts, laws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures as it applies to individual job duties, the department, and the Company. This position must exercise due diligence to prevent, detect and report unlawful and/or unethical conduct by fellow co-workers, professional affiliates and/or agents

Qualifications

QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent education and relevant work experience in lieu of a degreeMinimum of three (3) years' experience in administering a Microsoft SQL environmentResourceful ability to resolve design or malfunction issues for Microsoft SQL ServerExpertise and experience writing in T-SQL, PowerShell, Scripting languages, SSISStrong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentStrong systems analysis, problem solving and design skillsStrong communication skills (written/verbal)Attention to detail and a passion for problem-solvingExcellent customer service skillsAvailability for on-call support off hours and weekends
