EA is excited to offer a unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced mid-level Coastal Scientist or Coastal Engineer at our Honolulu office. As part of our dynamic team, you will be at the forefront of projects that blend engineering and science with a deep commitment to preserving and restoring our natural world. This role is more than a job; it's a chance to make a tangible impact on our planet's future. Candidates do not need to hold expertise in every field described herein, but they must possess either extensive knowledge of the coastal regulatory framework in Hawaii OR coastal ecosystem/engineering processes in general. Your Daily Impact:

Nature-Based Solutions:

Designing and permitting initiatives that use nature's own processes to address environmental challenges. Ecosystem Restoration:

Playing a key role in restoring vital coastal ecosystems, from wetlands to dunes, ensuring they thrive for generations. Climate Resilience:

Developing innovative approaches to climate adaptation and resilience, focusing on natural resource protection. Environmental Stewardship:

Engaging in sediment management, wetland assessments, and dune/beach management, all critical for maintaining healthy coastal environments. Qualifications We Seek:

A Bachelor of Science (or higher) in a relevant field (Coastal/Ocean Science/Engineering, Civil, Environmental, or other related degree). For engineers, E.I.T. preferred, and Hawaii PE (or eligibility) is a plus. At least five years of experience in related fields. Task/Project management capabilities. Familiarity with Federal, State, and local permitting for tidal and nearshore projects. Experience with native Hawaiian organizations is a plus. Comfort with both office and field work, and openness to travel as needed. Experience in proposal development and grant writing. What You'll Get:
