Endocrinologists in the Endocrinology Department are clinicians who provide clinical care for patients admitted to Catholic Medical Center.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Endocrinologists will engage in direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of his/her overall professional responsibility within the Department. Patient care activities will include, but are not be limited to:
1. Provide inpatient consultations Monday through Friday, 8 AM-4PM, with the expectation of completing consults within 24 hours, and stat consults within working hours, with the expectation of responding within one hour.
2. Provide weekend call for critical need consults only.
3. Expertise in managing insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring and diabetes management, comfortable caring for post-surgical cardiac and bariatric patients, and OB/GYN endocrine specialty needs.
4. Direct contact and consultation with patients and when permitted, with family members,friends, advocates, and others to ensure effective communication of patient status and careplans.
5. Appropriate and on-going communications with hospital medicine physicians and care team who routinely manage the care of patients currently in the hospital.
6. Accurate and timely completion of all clinical and professional records and documentation toassure optimal patient care and compliance with local, state and federal regulatory, licensureand accreditation requirements.
7. Work to create a positive work culture within cross-departmental teams and align this workwith other Hospital Medicine initiatives.
8. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements MD/DO, BC/BE in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine and NH state license or ability to obtain, and a Federal DEA registration.
Experience:
Board certified with two or more years of experience as an Endocrinologist is strongly preferred.
Degrees, Licensure and/or Certification:
Physician will maintain a current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New Hampshire, federal and state prescriptive authority, and will obtain and maintain boardcertification by the American Board of Internal Medicine/American Board of General Medicine in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws of Catholic Medical Center.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
