12 hour shifts available. Must have current NYS unrestricted License to practice professional nursing 1 year of ICU Experience required.
Responsibility Summary
The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families.The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patients episode.The Registered Nurse in Intensive Care develops specialized skill to care for critically ill unstable patients.The ICU RN develops a strong working knowledge of life support machines, cardiac monitoring systems and other life preserving medical equipment and nursing interventions essential for a critical care nurse.The ICU RN is accountable for patient family education to assist the patient and family in understanding self care beyond hospitalization including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.The ICU Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort, and provide emotional support in a healing environment.Job Type: Full-time
