Job Description: Job Responsibilities Support Engineer The team is looking for a Support Engineer to connect users, operations-based teams, and engineering to improve efficiency. An individual in this role will be responsible to ensure customer tickets are processed, resolved, root caused, escalated, and documented effectively. An individual who is successful in this role will be able to troubleshoot software related issues with limited guidance and/or documentation. This individual will be expected to work with Python and Bash daily to analyze log data, troubleshoot based on the information gathered from the logs and user provided context, and deep dive into novel issues related to software-based user tools/data collection equipment/and ground support equipment (GSE). This individual will be able to adjust their communication style to condense technical findings and workflows to various stakeholders and customers to ensure the solution can be implemented effectively and in a timely manner. Basic qualifications * Bachelor"s or associate degree in information technology, Systems Engineering, or related field or relevant work experience. * 3+ years of experience with Linux/Unix tools and reimaging operating systems * Experience with log analysis, troubleshooting software-based issues that may point to a gap in hardware, and determining root cause. * Hands on experience with bash and python scripting * Working knowledge in AWS technologies and infrastructure. * Experience working with a ticketing system like Jira * Ability to create work instructions to document solutions to novel issues. * Ability to systematically troubleshoot and root cause faults. * Ability to escalate concerns to partner teams/management. * Flexibility and adaptability when in relation to operating hours. * Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Insist on the highest standards from self and others. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. This role supports an operations-based team as one if it"s primary customers. This means the ideal candidate will be able to adjust their working hours as determined by the team manager to meet business need with limited notice.
