We are seeking a highly motivated GIS Technician to join our team at our Oakland office. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an urban environment (i.e., walking around the city), making observations of storm drain features, utilizing mobile data collection applications such as ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123, post-processing collected data in ArcGIS Pro, conducting data editing in ArcGIS Pro, providing support to users in troubleshooting issues with ArcGIS Desktop, creating maps and exhibits for the projects, and editing GIS geometry and attribute data.

A day in the life as a Wood Rodgers' GIS Technician: Here are a few things that you can count on:

Conduct Storm Drain field observations to assess and document infrastructure conditions.Utilize mobile data collection applications, such as ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123, to collect and record field data efficiently and accurately.Post-process collected field data in ArcGIS Pro to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards and procedures.Working with the GIS Analyst and the GIS Manager to coordinate and perform various GIS tasks.Designing, creating, and developing spatial data sets and models using ArcGIS.Performing data creation and conversions.Creating and publishing maps and exhibits.Assisting with the development and submission of proposals.The candidate will need to have the ability to network within the office and educate co-workers about the capabilities and applications of GIS.Qualifications:

0 - 2 years' experience.BA/BS Geography, Environmental Studies, Computer Science or another related field.Comfortable working in the field performing observations utilizing mobile data applications (e.g., ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123).Familiar with using ArcGIS Pro, GIS data formats, coordinate systems, and GIS editing techniques.Experience in creating maps and exhibits for users.Ability to edit GIS geometry and attribute data.How we elevate your game: Joining Wood Rodgers comes with perks to support you in your personal and professional journey.

What it pays

$42.25 - $52.75 hourly + overtime paid at time and a half.
