Join Broadmead (the oldest continuing care retirement community in Maryland) and their brand new Center of Excellence in Health & Wellness! This state-of-the-art Health and Wellness Center utilizes a holistic approach to wellness through a variety of offerings for the 500+ residents of Broadmead, the 300+ employees of Broadmead and older adult members from Baltimore County and other neighboring communities. Fitness, aquatics, group exercise, massage, acupuncture, community volunteer program, spiritual wellness, manicures, pedicures, arts and ceramics are all examples of programs or services the Center of Excellence in Health and Wellness provides. The center adopts a personalized approach for every participant to help them on their health and wellness journey.

Flexible, Mon - Fri. Occasional weekends, 16-20 hours per week.

Essential Duties:

1. Participates in delivering and arranging for appropriate pastoral/spiritual care to patients/residents, their loved ones and staff or to particular faith groups.

2. Actively participates in the delivery of pastoral/spiritual care.

a. Responds to requests for pastoral/spiritual care in a timely manner.

b. Participates in the offering of worship opportunities.

c. Participates in the meeting of ritual and sacramental needs.

3. Assists in the coordination of clergy, pastoral and other spiritual visitors from the greater community when appropriate and needed.

4. Develop and oversee end-of-life spiritual programming for residents of Broadmead.

5. Lead group sessions focusing on non-religious spirituality (ie: meditation/mindfulness, connecting with nature)

6. Keeps records of pastoral/spiritual activities to communicate to the Broadmead community.

7. Supports an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral/spiritual care.

8. Attend scheduled departmental meetings as necessary

9. Develops relationships with all stakeholders and maintains an "open door" policy. Answer questions and help resolve issues and conflicts.

10. Monitors resident's apparent physical, emotional, and mental health and advises the appropriate staff members if changes are observed.

11. Attends assigned committee meetings and other meetings as required/requested.

12. Provides ongoing education for community, staff, residents, and families regarding spiritual wellness programs and available services at Broadmead Inc.

13. Evaluates work processes and methods and submits recommendations for continuous quality improvement.

14. Complies with all Broadmead, Inc. policies and procedures including those addressing conduct, safety, personal hygiene, and dress.

15. Maintains positive interaction with residents, guests, and other Broadmead employees.

16. Assumes responsibility for own professional development including meeting mandated standards for continuing education and staying abreast of developments in the field.

17. Perform additional duties and projects as directed by supervisor

A Master'sdegree in a field such as Divinity, Spirituality, Theology, or PastoralCounselling, or in any other related discipline and least 2 years of experienceis preferredRequiresexperience providing spiritual counseling/guidance to individuals of a varietyof faiths and backgroundsRequiresexperience providing end-of-life counseling and spiritual careRequiresexperience leading group counseling and spiritual sessionsRequiresexperience with public speaking and excellent public speaking communicationskillsRequiresability to work independently and with othersRequiresability to work with-in a team dynamic when planning and coordinating spiritualcareRequires theability to relate well to older adults with cognitive, impairment's hearing orsightCommunicateseffectively (verbal and written) with residents and staffMust have a validClass C driver's license that's in good standing
