Basic Function

The Human Resources Coordinator provides transactional support to the human resources function including but not limited to recruitment, orientation, onboarding, benefits, compensation, safety and wellness, records management, workers compensation, disability case management, leave management services, HRMS/Payroll and offboarding, etc.

Responsibilities

Provides transactional and administrative support to the HR department.Assist with recruiting efforts by creating job descriptions, posting job opening, screening candidates, conducting initial interviews, and coordinating onboarding activities.Assist with recruitment at educational institution, Job fairs, Industry events, veterans' assistance programs.Ensure compliance with applicable laws such as Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations as well as OFCCP and any other government contractual requirement process.Responsible for drafting and extending offer letters to candidates.Process new hire paperwork, including background checks, Physical & drug screenings, and other required documents.Assist with DOT Compliance for all personnel within JESCO Inc. This includes keeping up on the required documents such as the Driver Qualifications and Drug and Alcohol compliances.Work with location-specific IT Staff to ensure IT provisioning related to onboarding and IT asset recovery related to offboarding.Onboard new employees in the HRIS system as well as conducting orientation sessions and providing necessary paperwork.Administer benefits such as health insurance, and 401(k) plans.Train new hires on company policies and procedures.Maintain employee files in accordance with legal requirements as well as purges records that are no longer required to be maintained.Maintain I-9 documentation.Prepare reports related to personnel activities such as hires/terminations/promotions/payroll changes.Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system.Handle confidential information in a professional manner.Respond to inquiries from employees regarding benefits or other HR topics.Assist with special projects related to HR initiatives.Report any workers compensation or FMLA Leaves.Assists with compensation management and sales compensation, confidentiality, and employment agreements.Assists with planning and execution of special events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements

Education/Qualifications:

Associate degree in related field or equivalent job experience 2-4 years plus in HR; bachelor's degree preferred.1-2 years relevant work experience in Human Resources; providing support to department heads and senior leadership.Prior experience with Unions and heavy equipment manufacturers in the construction industry a plus.SHRM-SP and / or PHR credential preferred.Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws including but not limited to NJ, NY, MA, DE, MD)Prior related office experience preferred.
