SimpliSafe is seeking a Lead UX Design Researcher with ecommerce experience to join our growing design team. In this role, you will influence and shape the future of our ecommerce store, with the goal of helping all customers purchase the security system that best fits their needs and budget.

You will use a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to plan, conduct, and synthesize research including exploratory foundational research AND evaluative research.

The Simplisafe Ecommerce team is a conversion-focused, experimentation-centered and fast-paced environment - so if you love helping teams discover user insights that can spark new ideas that drive business results, this job is for you!

Primary responsibilities include:Work collaboratively with Product Designers, Product Managers, Data Analysts on our technology squads to effectively plan, manage, and execute end-to-end primary researchConduct and design foundational research to identify user needs during key phases in the shopping journey (i.e. configuring a security system for the first time). Design studies that address user behaviors and attitudes while understanding user mindsets.Weave together qualitative insights with quantitative data to explain "the why" behind consumer activity onsite, crafting high-quality, memorable presentationsInspire creativity in others with impactful storytelling that communicates new insights about how connect with prospective customersShare knowledge and identify opportunities for new initiatives with researchers and analysts across other teams including: Business Strategy, Product (security system hardware and mobile app) and Customer Success.Foster collaboration by planning, hosting and moderating brainstorming sessions based on consumer insightsWhat You'll BringDeep experience in design research, with broad exposure to a variety of qualitative research methodologies such as one-on-one interviews, surveys, moderating group conversations, diary studies, prototype testing, usability testing, and engaging users remotely while they shop.Expertise with user testing and research tools such as Qualtrics, UserTesting.com, UserInterviews.com, DScout, Wevo, Fullstory, SurveyMonkey, Google Forms, or similar.Impactful and effective communicative skills with a passion for details.Comfortable using design tools such as Figma, and analytics dashboards like TableauHighly curious and ability to work independently, are self-motivatedProactively speak up to identify new areas for inquiryDesire to actively to contribute to shape design team culture & visionPreferred:

4+ years of consumer research experience (for D2C ecommerce a huge plus)Experience in an experimentation (A/B testing) focused environmentBe able to interface with marketing/business people with understanding of marketing research techniquesExperience managing research vendor relationshipsCoding, prototyping, UX copywriting or information architecture experience a big plusMust Have:

An online portfolio showcasing the end-to-end research process starting with the problem, the insights you uncovered and how that impacted the final deliverable.
