IT Program Manager Job DescriptionThe main function of the IT Program Manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming
What you'll do as an IT Program Manager:
Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activityManage backup, security, and user help systemOperating smaller budget projectsConsult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirementsMeet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problemsProvide users with technical support for computer problems
What you'll bring to the IT Program Manager role:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field3+ years of related experiencePMI or PMP certification is preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and manage one's timeKnowledge of computer hardware and software such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc.Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsBasic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods
