Tenaska is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, an organization that's adept in natural gas and power marketing, power management, development and acquisition of generation assets, operation of power plants and more.Position Summary: This position will work within the Software Development group to facilitate change and improvement in front, mid, and back office processes. Process change and improvement are primarily achieved through continued improvement and implementation of TPS's flagship system, PowerTools Platform (PTP).The primary responsibility of the Business Analyst is to assess overall business objectives within one or more business groups and design business processes in such a way that they may be effectively modeled and configured within the PTP environment. The Business Analyst must also apply a broad knowledge of business strategies, industry specifics, and various technical functions to accurately implement change and anticipate organizational impacts.Essential Job Functions:Understand business analysis and process designUtilize PTP functionality to satisfy business requirements and business process designGain proficiency with data visualization tools and learn to incorporate best practicesRead and understand contracts and/or legal documents to facilitate business setup and designAbility to effectively document processes, solutions, and decisionsWork as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, validate, and document data and system requirements that may result in changes to business processes, policies, and systemsDevelop familiarity with business functions, as well as established priorities and sequences for processesDevelop business relationships and integrate activities with various IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support project effortsMonitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actionsDependable and predictable attendance is requiredOn call rotation for 24/7 support requiredEducation/Experience/Skills:Basic Requirements:Dedicated self-starter with a high level of initiative, assertiveness, curiosity, and inquisitivenessQuick study with the desire to continuously develop and grow professionally and personallyContributes ideas and builds off others' ideasA methodical and analytical approach to solving problemsAn ability to explain technical information to non-technical peopleWillingness to work long hours, as necessary, to get the job completed on time and at the highest level of qualityAbility to work effectively, communicate, and relate to a wide variety of personalities at different levelsAbility to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneouslyDetail-oriented; positive attitude; team-orientedPreferred:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferredExperience with Object Oriented coding languages preferredFamiliarity with application development the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) preferred*Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time for position.*Benefits:At Tenaska we care about the wellbeing of our employees and their families.
