JOB PURPOSE : The IT Epic Analyst will assist in the development, support, and functional roll out of the EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system commensurate to their certification. The IT Epic Analyst assists in optimizing their workflow processes through building applications that are tailored to meet the organization's needs. They will learn the EHR system's capabilities and functional use and apply their knowledge of Patient Care Business workflow to assist in the implementation of a system that meets process needs. The IT Epic Analyst is the primary support contacts for each application. They coordinate all issues that arise during the project for their application areas and must be very knowledgeable about the organization's policies, procedures, and business operations.

Essential Job Functions:

Participates in all phases of the system development life cycle including development of use cases and evaluation of software solutionsResearches to develop, configure, and modify moderately complex information systemsCreates documentation of business requirements, current and future state workflowsDesigns, codes/configures, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains programs/applicationsCoordinates all testing phases of associated applications during implementations and upgradesIdentifies issues that arise in application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and working to resolve themDevelops strong relationships with end user communities, customers, and business partners, serving as primary support contactWith end user communities, customers and business partners, ensures the system meets the organization's business needs and delivers on project deliverables and timelineMaintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control etc. for this positionDemonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standardsMinimum Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D).Three (3) years' experience working within an ambulatory care environment within a practice management and EHR system. Has been considered a lead or super user of the application within the work environment and provides support to their peers.Three (3) years' of working experience in clinical application design, configuration, set-up, and troubleshootingUnderstanding of the operational practices of scheduling and payer authorization, including nuances of provider schedules, scheduling practices for certain types of visits, and how these practices relate to the medical record flow for appointments.Knowledge of areas that integrate with Cadence, including check-in, registration, benefits, referrals, PCP assignment, and orders.If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

Role Specific Epic Certification - Cadence and/or PreludeLevel I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employmentEmployees in this position may be required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver's license and must be in compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.. All El Rio IT Epic Analyst positions require Epic certification based on the specific role (Ambulatory, Beaker, etc.). For candidates who meet minimum qualifications but are not yet Epic certified, the candidate has 90 days from the start date to obtain the required Epic certification. One probationary extension of 30 days may be granted with approval from IT Management and Human Resources. If the employee does not receive certification for the position within this timeframe, they are ineligible to remain in the position, and may seek other opportunities within the Organization for which they are qualified or may resign.

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:

Bachelor's degree in Clinical, Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Computer System or a related field from an accredited college or university.Strong understanding of healthcare business process and technologyBasic understanding of clinical workflows and terminologyHealthcare IT experience in acute care or ambulatory care settingsWorking knowledge of IT solutions and interfacingFive (5) years' working experience and knowledge of clinical application design, configuration, set-up, and troubleshooting.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
