DevOps Engineer

on our progressive team based out of NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. We are at the forefront of developing innovative solutions, and we need your expertise to continue advancing our mission in deep space exploration.

As a

DevOps Engineer , you will:

Lead the implementation and management of cloud infrastructure projects, focusing on automation and orchestration with Terraform and Kubernetes.Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient code deployment and management across multiple environments.Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into their workflows, improving scalability and reliability of systems.Develop and manage monitoring solutions to ensure high availability and performance of applications and services.Manage the full lifecycle of infrastructure and applications, from planning and provisioning to decommissioning.Ensure compliance with security and data protection regulations.Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Stay abreast of new technologies and best practices in DevOps, cloud computing, and containerization.Here's What You'll Need:

Requisition Qualifications:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure.Strong proficiency in Terraform and Kubernetes, with proven experience in deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications.Experience with CI/CD tools and processes, and familiarity with version control systems like Gitlab.Demonstrated ability to automate processes and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively in a team and interface with other departments.Self-motivated and proactive, with a keen attention to detail and organizational skills.Requisition Preferences:

BS degree from an accredited school and five (5) years of direct DevOps experience,Certifications in cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes (CKA, CKAD).Experience in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go).Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and logging solutions (ELK stack).Background in working with Agile methodologies.

Work Environment

This is a remote role, that may require travel 1-2 times a year.

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
