Job Summary

The Director of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics is a data-driven leader who delivers the BI solutions and insights Vandalia Health needs to make critical business decisions. Responsible for providing leadership in the development and advancement of Vandalia Health's Business Intelligence and Data Analytics strategy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an enterprise approach to operational analytics, data visualization, and data analysis. • Manage portfolio of business intelligence projects to ensure on-time delivery. • Align and collaborate with internal stakeholders on strategic priorities related to reporting and analytics across the organization. • Supervise and direct the Business Intelligence team's workflow to provide effective and timely business intelligence delivery services to clients. • Evaluate current state of the Business Intelligence platform architectures and landscape to identify opportunities and to ensure efficiency and productivity. • Drive technical innovation by conducting research to monitor industry trends and explore and evaluate new technologies to advance the mission and goals of Vandalia Health in the areas of self-service reporting, advanced analytics, etc. • Lead data governance processes required to ensure data integrity, information optimization, and performance of the Vandalia Health data lake. • Oversee the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conduct performance reviews. • Provide leadership, technical guidance and coaching to staff. • Develop strategies to leverage data for operational metrics, sophisticated data analysis, and advanced data modeling to solve business problems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. Perform related duties as assigned.

Education

• Master's Degree (Required) Education: Masters Degree in related field as identified by the AA or CIO Experience: 10 years of working in a hospital or healthcare setting including the following • Financial, clinical and population health business intelligence • Design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise data warehouses • Data warehousing, analytics, wrangling, visualization, architecture, integration, and storytelling • Healthcare data, healthcare data privacy, security regulations, and electronic health records • Oracle databases and technologies. Comments: • Applicant must have strong communication skills and ability to build strong collaborations with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the health system • Strong understanding of key BI trends and emerging technologies • Experience reviewing and streamlining business processes, including gathering and documenting business requirements, developing and implementing new processes and procedures. • Ability to communicate problems in terms that are understandable to end users at all levels. • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
