Power BI Analyst (Part-time)

The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is looking to hire a temporary employee for six (6) to twelve (12) months (up to 1000 hrs.) that meets the job specifications below.
Job Specifications:Receive data collections and data elements and load the data into the Power BI data inventoryDevelop guidelines for dashboards, reports, and data visualizationPerform data analysis based on MSDE data reporting guidelinesCreate complex reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for internal and external stakeholders (public)Develop report archives for historical reference and long-term, secure storage and retention ( Develop report and dashboard templates in accordance with MSDE branding initiativesAnalyze data received from various agencies and transform the data to meet the business and technical needs of the end-userUpload data into the Power BI application and perform data validationEnsure data accuracy and completenessAdhere to data security and privacy best practicesPerform data quality checks to validate data accuracy.Provide weekly status reports which include, but are not limited to: a. Tasks Completed b. Tasks Planned c. Risks/IssuesPerform other duties related to MSDE Microsoft Power BI projectsEducation and Experience
Four-year degree from an accredited college or universityTwo years of experience with Microsoft Power BIMust be available to work onsite at MSDE as required by the TO ManagerK12 education experience is preferred. 5. State and/or federal reporting experience based on data from an educational setting is preferred.
