Manager, Product DesignOverview : Urban Outfitters, Inc. is seeking an empathetic, human-centered Product Designer to join URBN’s Digital Product team; a centralized group, tightly aligned with URBN brands and the IT organization, specializing in user experience, product management, testing & analysis, digital strategy, and program management. The Product Designer will be responsible for designing class-leading solutions for digital products, consisting of consumer-facing and enterprise web and native mobile applications.Responsibilities:Design
– define the information architecture, usability requirements, interaction patterns, and visual requirements, ensuring design solutions are useful, usable, consistent, and engaging
Ideate
– lead collaborative brainstorming exercises, workshops, and a variety of hands-on, interactive meetings
Simplify
– develop simple and elegant solutions to complex business and user problems
Strategize
– work closely with product management to define product strategy
Align
- collaborate across the enterprise to ensure satisfaction of business, user, technical and brand objectives
Research
- leverage user research and analytics data to inform design decisions
Facilitate development - ensure seamless integration of the design process with the Agile product development lifecycle; see requirements through to release
Measure
– help establish metrics and continuously measure product design effectiveness to inform future iterations and improvements
Inspire, educate, and collaborate
- inspire others, evangelize the UX process and strategy, and foster collaboration and alignment of stakeholders across the enterprise
Essential Qualifications:Experience designing responsive websites and native mobile applications
Foundational understanding of web and mobile app technologies
Experience producing user workflows, wireframes, and prototypes; and familiarity with the tools associated with those skills
Ability to lead collaborative stakeholder workshop, design critiques, and design review meetings
Proven ability to clearly communicate ideas and design rationale to stakeholders
Detail oriented, highly organized, and ability to easily manage multiple ongoing projects
Preferred Qualifications:Formalized education in product/interaction design, usability engineering, human factors, human computer interaction, applied cognitive psychology, or related field
Experience working in e-commerce or digital retail products, technologies, and platforms
Experience working in an Agile development process, within across-functional team consisting of product designers, product managers, and engineers
Proven ability to contribute to design strategy, product roadmap, and product requirements specifications
Experience creating and working with design systems
Experience conducting user research
