Physiatrist (Neurorehabilitation, 1.0 FTE) - Minneapolis, MN

Hennepin Healthcare seeks a BC/BE physiatrist to join the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. This position will focus on Outpatient responsibilities, but will have opportunities for providing care in inpatient consultation service and acute inpatient rehabilitation service. We have a highly engaged and collegial team contributing to advance our Hennepin Healthcare vision of providing Exceptional Care without Exception. We are partnered with the University of Minnesota and there will be opportunities for medical student/resident/fellow education.
In this role, you will perform the following:
- Providing outpatient care for patients with acquired brain injuries and other neurological disorders
- Inpatient consultations in the intensive care unit, general medical floor at our Level I Trauma Center and acute care hospital.
- If desired, providing care in acute inpatient rehabilitation service.
- Interest in neurorehabilitation (brain injuries and spinal cord injury) is welcomed/desired
- Opportunities for medical student/resident/fellow education and research
- May be requested to have or be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota
- Call responsibility 1:6-8 weeks on average.
Our Knapp Rehabilitation Center is an inpatient specialty program of Hennepin Healthcare serving adolescent and adult patients various conditions that includes but not limited to traumatic brain injury, non-traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple trauma, spinal cord injury, burn, amputation, other neurological conditions. In 2023, Knapp began partnering with Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, the number one rehabilitation hospital in the nation. This partnership will bring Shirley Ryan AbilityLabs extensive expertise, data and analytics, and world class training here to drive safety, quality, access, and operational improvement. This alliance will build on the legacy of high-quality rehabilitation care and services provided by our Knapp Rehabilitation team and related inpatient therapies and chart a course for future growth. The goal of this alliance is to grow Hennepin Healthcare rehabilitation services by providing the highest quality care in an environment that celebrates teamwork and collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess (or be eligible for) current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
- If Board Eligible, must be Board Certified within 4 years from the date of completion of the applicable residency, fellowship or training program
- Current D.E.A. Certificate or be eligible for certificate
- Eligible for hospital credentialing
- Current Life Support Certification or complete course within 2 months of hire
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Brain Injury Medicine or Spinal Cord Injury Medicine
Preferred qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and families, treatment team members and staff, referring parties and hospital leadership
