Please note: this role is located in our Denver, CO office; we work off a hybrid model and come into the office 2 days per week.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in fostering a data-driven culture across our organization, enabling departments to leverage data comprehensively and facilitating data teams in building models, AI, and machine learning solutions. Your expertise will drive the development and maintenance of our state-of-the-art cloud-based data platform, which is central to powering our globally recognized brand. Key Responsibilities:Build and maintain highly scalable and robust data management systems tailored to specific business needs and challenges.Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices for data integrity, security, and accessibility.Build, maintain, develop, test, deploy and enhance our data pipelines and systemsCollaborate with data team and stakeholders including data architects, Executive and Product from the beginning to the delivery of a projectEnsure the highest quality of data is made available throughout the entire organization and systems meeting our SLAsQualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experienceExperience

Experience working in an online, gaming, or fast-moving industry7+ years of work experience in data engineers and data platformsMust have experience in successfully implementing data-centric applications, such as data warehouses, operational data stores, and data integration projectsExperience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and PythonExperience working with terabyte to petabyte scale dataFunctional/Technical Skills

Proven track record in data engineering with large scale production data platforms, showcasing successful project deliveries.Proficiency in SQL database design and multiple programming languages such as Python or Java.Extensive experience with major cloud data platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud.Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts required.Proficient with one or more big data & new data technologies such as DBT, Apache NiFi, Airflow, KafkaKnowledge in working with time-series/analytics databases such as ElasticsearchUnderstanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker/KubernetesFamiliarity with Marketing tooling and/or CRM systems is preferredFamiliarity with using business intelligence tools such as Domo, Superset or other similar toolingSkills

Excellent Verbal and written Communication skills; must be fluent in EnglishStrong analytical and problem-solving skills that balance with creative approachesAbility to take ownership of projects with diligence and consistency in carrying out tasks with a high level of attention to detail and priorityCollaborative, able to engage in interactive discussions with the rest of the team and able to communicate technical concepts clearly and conciselyPersonal Characteristics

Salary range for this role is $140-150k
