Top Secret is preferredWe are currently seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to support our Headquarters located in Herndon, VA.Responsibilities:Assisting in building and implementing new networks and application services to satisfy business needDocument and maintain network architectureContribute to ongoing policies and procedures defined to maintain and improve the network environmentsMonitor, protect, and tune network traffic using standard logging and management toolsEnsure staff equipment (i.e. laptops and workstations) are patched and performantEnsure printers, scanners, and other network infrastructure is accessible to staffConduct regular compliance audits to ensure network assets are patched and maintainedEnsure the availability for applications that require network connectivityProvide expertise in multiple operating systems (Linux/MacOS/Windows/VMWare)

Qualifications:Required:Must have at least an active Secret clearanceCompetence on Linux command line (2+ year). Familiarity with basic Linux commands, troubleshooting tools, and network administration configurationsExperience (2+ years) in network administration including design, maintenance, monitoring, and upgradingCompetent experience (2+ years) in virtualization technologies (VLAN configuration, vCenter, etc)Ability to work independently, and demonstrate a strong desire to learn and improveAbility to communicate technical information to non-technical staffMust be willing to report to office location (Herndon, VA) daily to start, can negotiate hybrid schedule after first 6 weeksPreferred:Bachelor's of Science in IT-related field of study5 years of previous working experience as a Linux administratorCompetent in Shell, Perl, and/or Python scriptingSolid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SSH, SNMP, etc.Familiarity with VMWareSecurity+ certificationFamiliarity with DevOps tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Salt, Gitlab)Familiarity with SECRET and TS enclave networking requirementsCybersecurity expertise, including adversarial awareness and common IT Security requirementsActive TOP SECRET/SCI clearance preferredOur benefits
