ICI Services is an Employee-Owned Company providing Engineering & Integration, Systems Acquisition, Information Warfare, and In-Service Sustainment support to government customers. We are seeking a Mid-Level Design Engineer to support our Navy customer in Washington, DC.

The ideal Candidate will have experience with commercial shipbuilding programs such as the American Bureau shipping Standards, Military Sealift command shipbuilding programs, or US Coast Guard Ship building programs. Experience in in-service design on US Navy, or Coast Guard ships is preferred. The candidate must hold a degree in Naval, Marine, or Design engineering or related field. A remote/hybrid work schedule can be accommodated with the approval from our Navy Customer.

Security Clearance:Applicant must be eligible to hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance.

Position/Job Description:As a Mid-Level Design Engineer, you will support various engineering and technical activities throughout the design and construction processes of ships, boats, craft, and shipboard equipment.Provide naval architecture, marine engineering, and electrical engineering support for different ship systems, including Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E), Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I), and mission equipment.

Additional Duties:Offer engineering/technical expertise for a range of shipbuilding projects, including concept studies, feasibility studies, and preliminary design activities.Participate in contract design activities, detail design and construction activities, and conduct independent design reviews.Provide support for in-service ship design and engineering activities, ensuring the ships' continued efficiency and safety.Offer technical assistance during shipboard equipment installations and provide ongoing support as needed.Conduct special studies related to ships, boats, craft, and shipboard equipment, with a focus on improving performance and functionality.Collaborate on projects involving Combat Logistics Force (CLF), Special Mission Ships, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) assets, among others.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems, Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I) systems, and mission equipment.Perform detailed analysis and simulations to assess the structural integrity and performance of ship components and systems.Contribute to the development and implementation of DoD/DoN procedures and policies (DoD 5000 process) in compliance with industry regulations.Apply your expertise in Military Sealift Command procedures and processes to enhance project execution and delivery efficiency.Take part in the evaluation and improvement of shipbuilding processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and cost-effectiveness.

Experience Requirements:A minimum of 3 years of experience in DoD/DoN program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.Familiarity with DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); Military Sealift Command procedures and processes; Supervisory experience; experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel; ship building experience desired.Experience in Commercial Ship Building programs, Military Sealift Command Shipbuilding programs, or Coast Guard ship building programs is preferred.

Educational & Certification Requirements:Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or related field.Professional Engineer License. Preferred.Membership to Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) or American Society of Naval Engineer (ASNE) is preferred.
