As a product-led company, Mav (the product) is at the core of everything we do at the company. Our product team is growing and we're looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer with a growth mindset, who loves to learn and wants a large scope of ownership within our fast growing company.The features you build will have a direct impact on our customers and our company, and you'll work directly with the CEO and Founder (who is a developer himself) on a daily basis.The ideal candidate is proficient in modern Ruby on Rails development. We'll bring you in during the product planning meetings and give you the freedom to work hard and fast, while also keeping the app highly performant.Responsibilities:
Attend product planning meetings and playing an active role in scoping out new features directly with founders.Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby codeFull-stack development. Front end and Back end.Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.Maintain and improve our RESTFUL API service.Maintain and improve our Github CI and Heroku Production environments.Qualifications:
5-8+ years of experience with Ruby / Ruby on RailsExperience with MongoDB, RSpec, Redis, and SidekiqSolid understanding of object-oriented programmingSolid understanding of Ruby on Rails Asset Pipeline (WebPacker, TypeScript, etc)Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTfulAbility to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one systemUnderstanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable applicationAble to create database schemas that represent and support business processesAble to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests in RSpecProficient understanding of GIT code versioning toolsAble to integrate with third party APIs (Twilio, Paragon, Zapier, etc)Familiarity with development aiding tools such as VSCodeFamiliarity with continuous integration, specifically Github ActionsFamiliarity with Heroku and Heroku PipelinesFamiliarity with workflow tools such as Hubspot, Basecamp, Slack, Hubspot, etc.What's In It for You:
