DescriptionJohnson & Johnson MedTech | Vision, is recruiting an experienced Data Engineer for the Digital Surgery and Connected Practice and Operating Room (CP&OR) R&D Team. This position is located in Jacksonville, FL OR in Milpitas, CA but allows for a hybrid work environment.What We Do:The Digital Surgery and CP&OR group was established with the goal of transforming the field of ophthalmology by creating an integrated and efficient operating room environment. By leveraging our expertise in software development, clinical science, as well as state-of-the-art data science and ML/AI tools, we are conceptualizing, prototyping, and ultimately developing a connected practice and operating room solution. We take immense pride in our inclusive culture, actively cultivating an atmosphere that embraces diversity in terms of backgrounds and ideas.The Job:·        Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop and implement data integration solutions for ophthalmology clinics and surgical sites.·      Design and develop data pipelines to pull together and merge data from various sources, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical devices used in cataract and refractive surgeries.·        Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from disparate sources and ensure data quality and integrity during the integration process.·        Develop and maintain scalable and efficient data processing workflows using appropriate tools and technologies.·        Collaborate on cloud architecture development efforts and contribute to architecture patterns/design, with respect to dataflow and model deployment.·        Implement data governance practices and ensure compliance with regulatory and cybersecurity requirements, such as HIPAA, to secure patient data privacy.·        Translate “business or customer requirements into data solutions” Optimize data models and structures to support data analysis, reporting, and advanced analytics initiatives.·        Perform data profiling and data quality assessment, identifying and resolving data quality issues.·        Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to data integration, data engineering, and healthcare data standards.·        Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data infrastructure and systems are in place to support data. integration and processing needs.·        Document data integration processes, workflows, and technical specifications for future reference and knowledge sharing.·        Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team.Qualifications·        Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.·        Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably working with healthcare or medical data integration projects at scale.·        Strong proficiency in data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.·        Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and/or Java.·        Experience working with data integration tools and technologies, such as Apache Kafka, Apache Nifi, or Talend.·        Familiarity with healthcare data standards and protocols, including HL7, DICOM, and FHIR.·        Understanding of data governance principles and data privacy regulations, such as HIPAA and HITRUST.·        Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their respective data integration services.·        Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data integration challenges.·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.·        Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.·        Comfortable working within an Agile development frameworkSalaryFor US based candidates, the base pay range for this position is $144,500 USD to $195,500 USD. BonusThe Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year.
