Come build your career with us.BAE Systems is looking for a an experienced, self-motivated Senior Systems Engineer to work on a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile, fast-paced development environment. The qualified candidate will perform data modeling and schema design in support of software development of a Space Ground mission-focused software cloud application. Assigned tasks may include analysis of needs, the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), working with customers and other team members, preparing user interface mock-ups, technical documentation in Jira and confluence, generation of agile capabilities & user stories, backlog prioritization and management, sprint planning, customer engagement, close interaction with software and system test engineers on the team to achieve program objectives. Perform analysis and tasks at concurrent stages to include technical planning, system design, software implementation, system integration, verification and validation. Because of the need for intermittent in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform a portion of work onsite, this position will be considered hybrid. Other incentives may be available based on position level and/or job specifics.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Must have a Top Secret security clearanceBachelor of Science degree in an engineering/technical discipline, and 8+ years related experience or equivalent experience, training and/or certificationsDomain experience related to DoD mission management and/or space domain awarenessExperience with data modeling design conceptsExperience with capabilities-level design of RESTful web servicesUnderstanding of User Interface design and development practicesExperience working directly with customers and end users in the DoD and/or Intelligence CommunityExperience with Agile management tools (e.g., Jira, etc.)Experience with UML/SysML modeling tools such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect, System Architect, etc.IC3 experience preferredExperience with Cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)Knowledge of open, standards-based architectures, interfaces and geospatial dataTeam player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environmentPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience with end-user acceptance testing.Experience executing RESTful web services using Postman, curl, or a similar tool.Proficient in requirements identification, analysis, documentation, and trackingProficient analyzing customer needs, and identifying user stories and technical tasks to achieve various Agile objectives and iterative development schedulesProficient in statistical analysis methods and toolsMotivated self-starter with good problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capabilityAbility to develop improved methods to increase program efficiencyDemonstrated leadership skills (supervisory experience, building teams, mentoring, building customer relationships)Ability to negotiate effectively with higher level managers, functional managers, customers, industry partners, and teammatesStrong oral and written communications skillsGood planning and organizational skillsExperience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $122870 - $208890Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
