Are you ready to join us?Sr Software Systems Engineer (ADAS)Role Summary:This Sr Software Systems Engineer (ADAS) position is in the area of development and testing of automotive ADAS function that will be launched for the VW Group in the North American Region (NAR). The incumbent will manage project schedules & resources, execute and coordinate the development, integration, validation and testing for the safety-critical embedded vehicle functions with our internal customer and internal staff.This position is part of a team that focuses on the series development support of electronic systems with particular relevance to the US and Canadian markets. People most suited for this position are able to derive technical systems from market-driven ideas, assertively work with suppliers building trust and finding common ground solutions, and work well in a multi-disciplined environment.Role Responsibilities:Project Lead Responsibility      Advanced Driver Assistance Systems leads and coordinates requirements management, integration, validation and product improvement activities for embedded vehicle products.      Deep technical knowledge of ADAS functions and enabling technologies.Understand the market specific use-cases for ADAS functions, derive high-level system requirements, break-down to deeper technical requirements       Proactively provide regular status updates at various levels of technical granularity to the management.      Coordinate and lead local testing planning and activities with Function Owners and Project Leaders.      Setup of master test plan and test management plan:    Execution of development activities including sensor data processing and buildup of proof of concepts      Updating of vehicle/test environments.      Assignment of work instructions to Vehicle, Methods & Tooling team.Mentorship and Training      Mentors project engineers and manages job training for project team members.      Creates, reviews, and manages NAR functional requirements.      Leads technical workshops with NAR development partners.Qualifications - ExternalQualifications:      7 years (or 5 years with a Master’s degree) as an Electronics Systems Engineer in development or testing for an Automotive/Aerospace/Transportation/Robotics OEM or Tier-1 supplier.      At least 4 years specializing in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) or related technologies.      5+ years’ expertise with ROS/C++/Python      At least 2 years as a Technical Project Lead leading to production of the automotive function – proven record of start-to-finish lead role.QualificationsEducation:Required          Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Aerospace, etc.).Desired         Master’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Aerospace, Robotics, etc.).         Experience with Product/Project management.Skills:          Excellent knowledge and proven record of having worked with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and related technologies - Automated Driving/Parking functions, computing hardware & software, relevant sensors (cameras, LIDAR, RADAR, ultrasonic) and sensor fusion.          Knowledge of Systems Engineering based requirements management, validation processes and project management activities, deliverables, and milestones.          Strong engineering product development skills that include understanding the market specific use-cases, deriving high-level system requirements, breaking down to deeper technical requirements for engineering development and creating test & validation methodologies for function release.          Give clear and unbiased assessment of project status and needs to partners, stakeholders and management.          Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason.          Creative and strategic problem-solving mindset – exhibit good judgement in making decisions.          Able to work in a highly dynamic, multi-disciplinary, time-line bound and target oriented work environment.          Good people and test resource management – functional and strategic.          Assertive with excellent communication skills – presentation, written and interpersonal.          Team player with good collaboration and integration skills – joining people, processes and systems.          Proven influencing and negotiation skills – steer project in order to obtain best outcome.          Able to understand the technical and financial angles of the project – direct team members on best approach to take.Specialized Skills:Required        Strong experience in ADAS software development with expertise in ROS/Python, ADTF/C++, or other relevant rapid-prototyping languages and frameworks.        Excellent English language skills mandatory.        Exceptional communication with internal / external partners, stakeholders, and project affiliates and management.        Resource planning and people management skills.        Experience in function development, integration and testing of Vehicle Systems.        Proven track record of product improvement recommendations making it into the product.        Ability to successfully develop and test multiple functions for embedded vehicle products.        Analytical skills.
