Are you ready to go beyond?Job Summary:Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly motivated individual to support research, development and production of ceramic matrix composite (CMC) turbine components. CMCs are an enabling material that increases the temperature capability of jet engine components. Through successful development and application of these materials, P&W will deliver engines that are more fuel efficient, lighter weight and more durable for commercial and military applications. The Metrology Inspection Technician will share responsibility for the development and execution of the processes needed to determine product dimensions and performance characteristics. Responsibilities also include the maintenance of measurement tools and equipment.Key

Responsibilities:Microscopy: Prepare test pieces for evaluation (section samples, plate, epoxy mount, and polish), evaluate using optical and scanning electron microscopes, record required data and further observations. Contribute to analyses.Mechanical Testing: Perform mechanical testing (stress/strain, fatigue, etc.) utilizing hydraulic and electromechanical systems (extensometers, thermocouples, load cells, strain gages, and deflectometers / LDVTs), capture data and contribute to analyses, perform equipment maintenanceWork from blueprints, sketches, and detailed instruction.Setup and highly sensitive and complex fixtures and data acquisition systems.Solder and setup and low voltage electrical systemsExperience with Excel and data entry and working independentlyTypical

Hours for 2nd Shift are Monday Friday 2:00pm 10:30pmBasic Qualifications:High school diploma/GEDU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this

program/contract6+ years of relevant experiencePreferred Qualifications:Two-year technical degree AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.Experience in product development within an AS9100 certified aerospace companyTrigonometry, Geometry, Statistics, and basic math problem-solving skills.Experience performing Microscopy and Mechanical TestsExperience working with Ceramics and/or compositesExperience following ASTM standardsAdditional Information:Must be a U.S. Citizen.
