We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about the environment, natural resources, water resources, conservation etc., to join our small group of Software Engineers at Houston Engineering, Inc. (HEI). This position can either focus on Front End or Full stack development of web and mobile programming apps.
Our Software Engineers (Front End or Full stack developers) specialize in development of web, mobile and GIS applications for a variety of clients around the U.S. Our work is conducted from multiple offices throughout the Midwest, but our reach goes nationwide. Our unique perspectives on integrating GIS and web technology with engineering and science has made us a leader in the development of science related applications.
Job Description
Test and debug programming codes for a variety of client projects.Participate in software requirement discussions and consult with other software developers on design strategies.Write programming code.Develop reusable responsive components using React and Redux.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Technical Degree in Computer Science or related fieldMinimum 2 years of professional experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML5 and React/Redux or similar frontend JavaScript librariesAbility to discuss technical items verbally and in writingGood understanding of React Framework ConceptsExperience with using REST APIs with React Components (promise, fetch etc.)Good grasp of responsive development (using any grid/responsive library e.g. Material UI)Familiarity with common front-end development tools such Webpack, NPM, Git etc.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Experience with backend development such as Python, Django, PostGreSQLExperience with GIS web application development, mobile application development and web UX design.Experience with Cloud services, such as Amazon Web ServicesExperience deploying application to Linux operating systems
