Successful applicants will demonstrate individual creativity in addressing challenges and opportunities while working within a supportive team to develop industry-leading solutions for the medium- and heavy-duty truck industry.Job SummaryPACCARs Embedded Engineering department, which serves both Kenworth and Peterbilt, has an opening for a Software Architect focused on Fuel Cell Integration. Successful candidates for this role will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver critical program goals across multiple projects and continue to enhance PACCARs global functional and system development processes.Job Functions / ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain software architectural designs for electronic control units.

Understand, communicate, and enforce software architecture strategy to adhere to corporate design standards.

Guide the software development team through high-level decision-making to meet industry standards.

Maintain software interface requirements.

Drive system-level analysis for software solutions being developed across the organization.

Enforce software architecture discipline and principles within the organization.

Lead design reviews to ensure industry-leading embedded software development best practices are met with software architecture.

Work with vehicle property owners, product developers, and system architects that develop and maintain software requirements for decomposition into software architecture.

Contribute to the development of procedures and practices that ensure continuous improvement of high-quality, reliable software systems.

Qualifications & SkillsB.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent required.

5+ years experience working as a software architect is required.

7+ years experience working on a software development team is required (preferably related to automotive or commercial vehicles).

Familiarity with Automotive SPICE preferred.

Proficiency with GIT/Java/C++/Embedded Linux/Python is required.

Experience with data structures, POSIX, Unity, and Open GL is a plus.

Experience working with AUTOSAR software is a plus.

Proficiency using MATLAB/Simulink, Rational Rhapsody, Subversion (SVN), and Requirements Management tools is preferred.

Experience creating and maintaining software requirements.

Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Willing to learn and use new engineering processes and techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems.

Experience in product development and new product implementation.

Able to work in a team environment.

The ability to provide coaching to facilitate the technical growth of junior software engineers is desired.

Familiarity with personal computer software including project management tools, word processing, flowchart/modeling, presentation, spreadsheets, and databases.

Willingness to grow personally and professionally in a results-orientated environment.

Travel up to 10%, including internationally.

Additional Job Board InformationAt PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for the Software Architect position is $110,600-$173,000 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
