Level 2 Storage Administrator

to join their team

onsite

in Louisville, KY. This resource can be onsite or remote but

must work EST hours, from 3pm to 12am, Monday to Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities:Consult, install, configure, monitor, and provide subject matter expert support of Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and associated technologies, proactive and reactiveEnsure data is accessible through secured protocols and recommended vendor and industry standardsParticipate in major incident and client consultation calls as the subject matter expert in storage technical areasProvide technical guidance to Junior and mid-level storage Administrators, client technical teams, and IT systems managersProactively manage SAN and NAS storage environments by monitoring alerts, incoming work pipelines, and by troubleshooting complex hardware and performance issuesInterface with storage technology vendors to resolve complex challengesOwn the activities for knowledge documentation and operational standards for storage management activitiesReport scheduling and analysisPatch management for all systemsParticipate in change control lifecycle activitiesMaximize the storage infrastructure functionality and recommend optimal improvements for availability, performance, and disaster recovery readinessMonitor hardware and hosted software performance, firmware versions and security compliance, as suggested by vendor best practice documentation and client senior technical teamsEngage hardware vendors to request assistance with complex issues not documented in knowledge articlesParticipate in the knowledge management practice by routinely creating, reviewing, and removing knowledge articles and Standard Operating Procedures for common or complex storage equipment management activitiesMonitor work pipelines in ServiceNow, email, and phone, for incoming or pending incidents, requests, and change tasksManage workloads and ensure defined metrics are met dailyParticipate in Change Enablement Practice LifecyclesParticipate in client facing meetings as a subject matter expert and answer questions about client-owned technology, functionality, configuration, and challengesProvide recommendations to client for environmental stability, as suggested by the technology vendorResolve any escalated incidents and participate in troubleshooting calls with the incident management team as well as client technical groups

Skills and Qualifications:

Associate's degree preferred in computer science or equivalent experienceMinimum 3+ years of experience in storage / technology environment or related fieldITIL v3 or v4Storage Certs in EMC, NetApp products, or other relevant Storage TechTechnical Competencies in

CISCO and Brocade SAN SwitchesDell EMC Clariion / VNX / VNXe / Isilon / VPLEXClient, Dell, IBM SAN Storage TechnologiesHPE 3ParNetApp Data ONTAPNetApp FAS and AFFPure StorageStorage clustering concepts and basic understanding of Access Lists functionality for client, windows and unix / linux Operating SystemsUnderstanding of Cloud Storage Technologies

Good problem solving skillsOrganizational and analytical skillsStrong communication skillsAbility to multitaskProficiency in storage hardware, software and / or Linux / Unix Operating SystemsServiceNow functionality and usability
