Primary Purpose

Under direct supervision, perform data entry including accounting, personnel, budget, demographics, or Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data; attendance; or grades into computer databases.

Education/Certification

High school diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/Skills

Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processingProficient typing, keyboarding, file maintenance, and 10-key skillsAbility to meet established deadlinesDemonstrate proficiency in handling matters of highly confidential natureMust possess personal qualities related to respect for the rights and confidentiality of othersExperience

Two years data entry experienceMajor Responsibilities and Duties

Records and Reports

Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source document using online computer terminal or personal computer.Collect and enter PEIMS data into established database and verify accuracy according to prescribed procedures.Maintain student records and process requests for student information and transcripts. Process new student records, including requesting transcripts and records from other schools.Verifies PEIMS data results according to procedures provided.Recognizes and corrects errors in original data prior to processing.Recognizes deficiencies in source documents and returns them to originator for correction.Prints reports using database information including attendance reports, class or personnel rosters, end-of-semester reports, or accounting reports.Professional Conduct:
